Meet Dr. Scott Nelson

Dentistry has provided me with an opportunity to use the gifts I have been given to treat and care for people from all walks of life. As a family-focused dental professional, I have the chance to work with patients of all ages. This variety is really a privilege! I get to see children as young as infants and celebrate with their parents as that child's first tooth comes in; and I'm able to help adult patients regain a healthy mouth and smile. I greatly enjoy the meticulous nature and the attention to detail required in dentistry, but I also hold in high regard the relationships that I’ve created with my patients over the years.

Education and Continuing Education

  • Undergraduate Degree – Hope College
  • Doctorate of Dental Surgery – University of Michigan Dental School

Following dental school, I continued my education as a resident at the VA Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI, where I gained valuable experience with many restorative and prosthodontic procedures. I have participated in a variety of continuing education courses, including new techniques and technology in the dental field, practice management, pain management, managing medically compromised patients, TMJ disorders, and sleep apnea therapies. It is always my goal to keep up to date in the dental field to provide the best possible treatments for my patients in a safe, high-quality, well-organized office environment.

Outside the Office

My beautiful wife, Jill, and I have been married for 17 years and we have been blessed with four wonderful children: our daughter Kate, and our triplets Benjamin, Andrew, and Emily! We also have a cat named Stella. I enjoy the outdoors, and much of my free time is spent hiking near Lake Michigan, as well as fishing and golfing.

Most of all, I am dedicated to two things: my faith and my family. I am currently a Bible Study Fellowship children’s leader. I am passionate about serving God within my family, my community, and my work environment.
